Mountaineering Ireland welcomes well know climber and mountaineer Paddy Dillon to Limerick as part of the 2016 Winter Lecture Series.
Paddy Dillon is a mountaineer and freelance outdoor writer specialising in Ireland and Britain. He is the author of many articles and guidebooks including The National Trails of Britain and Ireland, The Mountains of Ireland, The Irish Coast to Coast Walk, Exploring the North of Ireland, and Exploring the South of Ireland. He has hiked all over Ireland and Britain as well as the Continent. He also contributes to magazines, newspapers and periodicals and leads walks in Ireland, Britain and elsewhere, including Tuscany. He is a member of the Outdoor Writers’ Guild.
The GR5 Trail is one of the best known long distance routes in Europe crossing the French Alps from Lake Geneva to Nice. Paddy’s Cicerone guide book ‘The GR5 Trail’ is certainly one of the must haves for anyone walking or trekking all or part of this long distance route. This talk will be hosted by Limerick Climbing Club.
Paddy will be giving an illustrated talk on and answering questions on all aspects of trekking and mountaineering.
