Important message regarding the members’ forum at the forthcoming Mountaineering Spring Gathering
Dear Club Secretaries
Firstly I would like to thank you for sharing information on our AGM and our Spring Gathering in the Glen of Arhelow. The bookings are going really well and it is set to be a great weekend.
Just to note there has been a small change to the itinerary. In order to allow for nominations and motions to be discussed and voted on at the AGM we have rescheduled the Members’ Forum. The Members’ Forum which had been due to follow the AGM on Saturday evening will now be on Sunday morning at 9:30am. The Sunday workshops will now commence at the slightly later time of 10:30am. Please see the attached information pack for the full itinerary.
The Members’ Forum, like the AGM, is for all members. The Members’ Forum is a key part of Mountaineering Ireland’s democratic process where clubs and members can put forward items to be discuss. This is often the catalyst for further examination or for a campaign or action to be launched. All members are encouraged to attend this forum and you are invited to submit items for discussion by email to email@example.com.
Can you please circulate this to your members and encourage everyone to attend.
Please note that the club development workshop on Sunday will be focused on the GDPR data protection changes and will go through changes from a club perspective so it would be good for clubs to have a representative at this workshop. We will circulate information in relation to the topic soon. The workshop is also an opportunity to raise any other topics of interest to discuss. If there is anything else, in particular, you would like to discuss or get some information on please email me beforehand so we can prepare the necessary material.
Hope to see you there.
